Kansas Race Notes
Christopher Bell who started on the pole led the opening 9 laps.
Big: Martin Truex Jr. started the race in 3rd, fell back a steady pace and then on lap 4 when he had fallen back to the mid-teens, Truex’s tire went flat and he slammed into the wall hard. This marked the end of his race. Truex supposedly ran over something which punctured his tire.
On lap 10, Kyle Larson got the lead and then led 54 of the next 57 laps.

Denny Hamlin was said to be very happy with his car during his opening green flag pit stop on lap 39. He was running around 8th at the time.

Notable: On lap 63 while running in 4th, William Byron spun which brought out the caution. It was a harmless spin but he was never as competitive after that.
Big: During the William Byron caution, a replay was shown of Austin Dillon getting into the wall pretty hard while running in 11th which did notable damage to the #3. His car snapped loose into the wall.
Notable: During the Byron caution, Chris Buescher was shown to have pitted twice. He was running in 12th before the caution came out. Buescher had a loose wheel.

Notable: On lap 98 it was mentioned that Stenhouse got into the wall. Stenhouse was struggling in the race and running around 20th at the time. A few laps later, Stenhouse was shown to have gotten into the wall again.

Big: On lap 108 while running in 2nd, Bubba Wallace had a flat tire which damaged the #23. Wallace’s toe link was broken.

Notable: On lap 115 during the restart lap following the Wallace caution, Austin Cindric who was running in 18th spun which brought out the caution.

Big: On lap 126 while running in 14th, Chase Briscoe was shown to be slow, and he was limping around the track. He told his team that his car “shut off.” This brought out a caution.

Notable: On lap 132 during the restart, Kyle Larson had a really bad restart that dropped him from 2nd back to 11th quickly. Chastain who was right behind him was hurt even more and it dropped him from 4th to 21st.
