The 2023 Coca Cola 600 was run on Monday. When the green flag waved, the cars were logging their first laps on the track all weekend. Practice and qualifying were both rained out.
Zane Smith drove the #38.
Todd Gilliland drove the lesser #51.

By lap 18, Kevin Harvick had fallen from 2nd to 17th. Chase Briscoe had fallen back 14 positions at that point back to 34th and said he was wrecking loose.

Big: During the Stage #1 caution, Erik Jones was shown to be having his team push his car to the garage. Jones just finished 12th in Stage #1. Noah Gragson also went to the garage right at this time. Gragson finished about 26th in Stage #1. Both of them had radiator problems. They both hit debris on the same lap supposedly.
During the Stage #1 caution, Michael McDowell didn’t pit which got him the lead.

Notable: On lap 143, Austin Cindric was shown to be on pit road after getting into the wall. Cindric was running around 20th prior to his problem.
Notable: On lap 144 it was mentioned that Michael McDowell who didn’t pit during the Stage #1 caution had to finally come to pit road. His pit stop dropped him two laps down at the time.
On lap 145, green flag pit stops started.
Notable: During his green flag pit stop around lap 150, Bubba Wallace got an equipment interference penalty. Wallace was in the mid-teens prior to getting his penalty.
Christopher Bell had a slow pit stop during his green flag pit stop in Stage #2 while leading.

Notable: During the rain red flag, Christopher Bell’s team made unapproved adjustments and he had to start in the rear of the field. Bell was in 5th at the time.
Notable: Still under the rain caution, Kyle Larson was shown to be on pit road with his hood up. Larson was running around the mid-teens prior to that. This was for adjustments.
Notable: During the rain caution, Joey Logano got a pit penalty for having an uncontrolled tire.
Big: On lap 164 right when the race was going green, Jimmie Johnson got into the wall.

Notable: On lap 176 while running in 7th, Kyle Busch spun which brought out a caution. Busch got into Keselowski and the #6 was shown to be tagging the wall. Suarez got some slight nose damage at this time. Keselowski said his car felt OK following it.

Big: On lap 185, Chase Elliott and Denny Hamlin crashed as Elliott was exacting revenge. They got together just before that. They were battling for 6th. They were both totaled.
