North Wilkesboro All-Star Race Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
William Byron
North Wilkesboro Fantasy Spin – William Byron will be tough to beat at North Wilkesboro in the All-Star Race. The 3-time 2024 winner won at Martinsville, and I would consider that track to have the highest-level correlation, especially after the repave. This year with the new low-down force rules package, Byron has the 3rd best Total Speed Ranking and minus Phoenix where he ran well but had a misleading result his average finish is 4th. Earlier this year, Byron took part in testing at North Wilkesboro.
North Wilkesboro Track History – William Byron had a disappointing showing in last year’s All-Star Race and finished 20th. Byron ran well early and was in 8th on lap 45, but then shortly after that on lap 54 he was in 12th and was said to be off pace. Not long after that, Byron made a green flag pit stop that dropped him off the lead lap and you could essentially stick a fork in him at that point. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Byron ranked 9th.
Denny Hamlin
North Wilkesboro Fantasy Spin – Denny Hamlin is arguably the premiere shorter-flat track driver in NASCAR and at North Wilkesboro, look for him to perform at a high-level and be a factor. This year at shorter-flat tracks, Hamlin has the best Total Speed Ranking over the combined races, the best Driver Rating, the best Average Running Position (6.2) and his 7.7 average finish ranks as the 2nd best.
North Wilkesboro Track History – Denny Hamlin finished 13th in last year’s All-Star Race which was a disappointing evening. In the race, Hamlin ran great early, logging laps in the top five but in the second half of the race he just hovered within a few deviations of 10th. In addition to finishing 13th, Hamlin had a 7.5 average running position, earned the 10th best Driver Rating and had the 11th best Total Speed Ranking.
Joey Logano
North Wilkesboro Fantasy Spin – Joey Logano could be a contender in the All-Star Race despite the #22 team being in a slump. Logano liked his car last year and overall when it comes to racing at shorter-flat tracks, Logano’s one of the best in the business and he’s certainly not afraid to dial up the intensity. At Martinsville which I view to have the most correlation now, Logano finished 6th, had the 7th best Total Speed Ranking and led 84 laps. At Richmond, the next most recent race with the rules package he finished 2nd. Another attribute I like about Logano is that the #22 team isn’t afraid to get aggressive with pit strategy. Earlier this year, Joey Logano took part in testing at North Wilkesboro.
North Wilkesboro Track History – Last year in the All-Star Race, Joey Logano looked to be one of the best and don’t let his 10th fool you. In the race, Logano was in 4th at the time of the midpoint caution, but he then got an uncontrolled tire penalty which sent him to the back and he just wasn’t able to fully bounce back. In the race, Logano ranked 6th for Green Flag Speed, had the 7th best Total Speed Ranking and his average running position was 7.7. Take note in the race, Logano really liked his car.
