Gateway Race Notes

Ryan Blaney who started in 2nd in the outside row led lap #1.

On lap 1, Corey LaJoie who started in 30th was said to be dropping back rapidly. Before the rain red flag came out (lap 2), LaJoie pitted which dropped him all the way to the back.

On lap 2, Kyle Busch took the lead and then led the next 59 laps.

Notable: On lap 2, Tyler Reddick who was in 11th was spun which brought out the first caution. Reddick didn’t hit anything.

Notable: Following the caution on lap 2, the race went to red flag due to weather.

Big: On lap 91 while running in 16th, Carson Hocevar who drove the #7 had a brake failure and crashed.

During the Hocevar caution, a lot of pit strategy ensued.

NASCAR scoring went out right after lap 100. There was a power outage in the Gateway vicinity.

Late in Stage #2, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. was running in 7th really liked his car.
