Asterisk Mark Report – New Hampshire
Christopher Bell – Last year at New Hampshire, Christopher Bell was a top five contender, but he finished an asterisk mark 29th. In the race, Bell had a laundry list of problems which included a slow pit stop, a loose wheel, bad pit strategy and then to cap off his afternoon he crashed on lap 288 while running in 8th.
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney was a top five contender last year at New Hampshire but he finished an asterisk mark 22nd. In the race, Blaney finished 5th in Stage #1, finished 4th in Stage #2 but then during the Gragson caution with about 30 laps to go while running in 2nd, Blaney got a pit penalty for running over his air hose. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Blaney ranked 3rd.
Ty Gibbs – Last year at New Hampshire, Ty Gibbs had mid-teens potential but finished an asterisk mark 27th after his afternoon unraveled at the end. In the race, Gibbs started 36th, finished about 13th in Stage #1, finished about 12th in Stage #2 but then near the end on lap 281 while running in the mid-teens he was involved. With 10 to go, Gibbs was in 15th but then with 2 to go he was shown to have scrubbed the wall which led to his 27th.
