Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Nashville
Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick was a contender to win last year at Nashville but he finished an asterisk mark 30th. In the race, Reddick started 2nd, led 33 laps, won Stage #1, was in 3rd on lap 132 but then shortly after that on lap 139 after just completing his green flag pit stop, Reddick had a loose wheel and as he was coming back to pit road, he lost his wheel on pit road. That dropped Reddick 2-laps down and you could then stick a fork in him. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Reddick ranked 13th but take note his speed ranking over the first two segments were 1st and 3rd.
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney looked to be a low double-digit to mid-teens driver last year at Nashville but he finished an asterisk mark 36th. In the race, Blaney started 13th, had the 15th best Total Speed Ranking, was in 12th on lap 146 but then that very lap during a restart he crashed. In a post DNF interview, Blaney said his car was finally getting decent at that point in the race.
Todd Gilliland – I honestly don’t know what was going on with Todd Gilliland last year at Nashville, but he finished four laps down in 35th. Gilliland never ran well and from lap 30 and on, he basically ran right at the back. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Gilliland ranked last.
Chase Briscoe – Chase Briscoe finished 31st last year at Nashville. That looks like an asterisk mark result, but I honestly can’t say that it is. Briscoe never ran well and was just simply uncompetitive. In the race, Briscoe had a 29.8 average running position and ranked 32nd in terms of Total Speed Rankings.
