Denny Hamlin who started on the pole was passed in turn #1 by Tyler Reddick.
Tyler Reddick led the opening 8 laps.
Notable: On lap 1, Erik Jones, Brad Keselowski and Noah Gragson were shown to have gotten together. It started with Erik Jones not making a turn and basically going straight into a tire barrier. Nobody got any real damage.
Notable: On lap 2, Denny Hamlin was shown to have slid into a tire barrier. He was in 2nd at the time. Hamlin didn’t get any real notable damage from this. It dropped him back to 12th.

On lap 21, the opening green flag pit cycle started.
Notable: On lap 22, Joey Logano got into a tire barrier. He was able to get away on his own and no caution came out. Logano was running in 11th just prior to that. He came to pit road just after that.
Notable: On lap 23 it was mentioned that Ricky Stenhouse Jr missed a turn, had to do the run-off area and then turn around to come back out on the track again. He was running around the high 20’s around that time.

On lap 25, Todd Gilliland was shown to have had a minor spin.
Big: On lap 25 it was mentioned that Ryan Blaney had contact with the track which damaged his car. It dropped him two laps down and had him back to last.
Notable: On lap 26, Chase Elliott was shown to have gotten into a tire barrier. He was able to back up and get going again. He was running around the low double-digits shortly before that.
Notable: On lap 28, Austin Dillon was shown to be off course in a run-off area.

On lap 32 while running in 7th, AJ Allmendinger reported to his team that his brakes were miserable, his car wouldn’t turn and he wasn’t happy with it.

Big: While running in 11th on 41, Alex Bowman was spun which brought out the caution. This led to a long pit stop for Bowman where the popped up his hood. His engine went into “Protection Mode” for whatever reason. This dropped Bowman two laps down.

Big: On lap 44, Alex Bowman was shown to be stopped on the track. This brought out a caution.
