Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Chicago Street
Christopher Bell – Last year at Chicago Street, I would argue Christopher Bell was the best, but he finished an asterisk mark 18th. In the race, Bell led the most laps (37), won Stage #1, won Stage #2 but then when the field got flipped following the caution on lap 49, Bell went from leading back to 14th. Bell got into a tire barrier shortly after that and then you could stick a fork in him. Over the first two segments which were incident free for him, Bell had speed rankings of 2nd and 1st.
Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick was a clear-cut top five performer last year at Chicago Street but he finished an asterisk mark 28th. In the race, Reddick led 8 laps, finished 2nd in Stage #1, finished 3rd in Stage #2 but then on lap 57 while running in 4th, Reddick got into a tire barrier and got stuck, and from that point on he was doomed. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Reddick ranked 4th with his speed ranking over the segments being 1st, 3rd, 2nd and then 24th.
Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex Jr. was a top ten contender last year at Chicago Street but he finished an asterisk mark 32nd. In the race, Truex started 11th, finished 4th in Stage #1, finished 8th in Stage #2 but then following the caution on lap 49 where the field got flipped, Truex found himself back in 21st on lap 51. Back in traffic, Truex struggled, spun and also later got into a tire barrier.
