Chicago Street Grant Park 165 NASCAR Practice Notes
Group A Driver Practice Notes
Kyle Larson – The #5 unloaded fast and had really good speed. Among Group A Drivers, Larson had the 2nd best 5-lap average.
Shane Van Gisbergen – SVG looked strong and ran great lap times. About 10-minutes into practice, SVG jumped up to #1. I wouldn’t read into SVG’s slow 5-lap average at all.
Michael McDowell – McDowell looked solid in terms of lap times. McDowell had the 3rd best 5-lap average.
Ross Chastain – Ross Chastain missed turn #4 and went into the runoff area early in practice. He didn’t hit anything. Chastain didn’t have a lot of speed in practice, but he picked up a lot for qualifying.
Chris Buescher – Buescher got into the wall during qualifying and broke his toe link. He’ll start in the back.
