Martin Truex Jr. Penalty Impact At Indy
At Indianapolis, Martin Truex Jr. will start in the rear of the field and serve a pass thru penalty at the start. This will be a huge track position setback at a track that can be tough to pass but I think he’s still more than capable of having a competitive afternoon. It’s certainly not a death sentence.
In practice it was mentioned that drivers couldn’t flip Stages via pit strategy like they did at Pocono unless they were within like 5 seconds of the leader. The timing for that includes a pit stop.
Very safe to say, Truex won’t go a lap down with the penalty.
