Chase Elliott who started in 2nd led the opening 5 laps. Elliott started in the outside groove.

Notable: On lap 64, Daniel Suarez spun while running in 9th which brought out the caution. Suarez didn’t hit anything. He had help from Josh Berry. This essentially marked the end of Stage #1.

Notable: On lap 155, Alex Bowman finally did his green flag pit stop and it was a little slow. It dropped him from the top five back to the high-teens after the pit cycle concluded.

Notable: On lap 170, Kyle Busch bounced off the wall which brought out a caution. Busch was around 15th at the time. Busch didn’t really lose track position from this, and I would say it was a very questionable caution.
Notable: During the Kyle Busch caution, Ty Gibbs and Ryan Preece both got pit road penalties. Justin Haley got a penalty too. Gibbs was in 10th at the time, Preece was around 18th and Justin Haley was off the lead lap in 35th.
