Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Richmond
Bubba Wallace – This spring at Richmond, Bubba Wallace was a top five contender, but he finished an asterisk mark 13th. In the race, Wallace finished 2nd in Stage #1, finished 8th in Stage #2, had a 5.7 average running position and had the 4th best Total Speed Ranking. With 2 laps to go while battling for 4th, Wallace spun Larson and then on pit road during that caution, the #23 team had a slow pit stop that dropped him from 4th back to 16th.
Josh Berry – This spring at Richmond, Josh Berry looked great and finished 11th but I think that underrates him and his race wasn’t incident free. In the race, Berry started 30th, finished 9th in Stage #1, finished 2nd in Stage #2, earned the 6th best Driver Rating and had the 7th best Total Speed Ranking. During the last Stage, Berry had a slow pit stop that dropped him back a few positions and then during the final green flag pit cycle, Berry missed pit road on his first attempt which dropped him back a few more.
Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell finished 6th this spring which is a great result but you could argue that underrates him still. During the last Stage while running in 3rd (prior to the green flag pit cycle starting), Christopher Bell was caught speeding on pit road after running long. That dropped Bell back to the teens, but he bounced back for his great result. If Bell didn’t have that problem, he probably would’ve had a great shot to win.
