Michigan NASCAR Practice Notes
NOTE: Practice was rain shortened and combined between both groups.
Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex Jr. had a lot of speed and jumped up to #1 early in practice. Truex ended practice with the best 5 and 10 lap averages.
Brad Keselowski – After logging 4-laps, Keselowski said, “Balance is pretty good. Little free to start but that came around.” Keselowski was reported to have brushed the wall. Keselowski had the 7th best 5-lap average.
William Byron – Following his opening stint on the track he said, “Car felt good no issues” just feeling it out.” The #24 had good speed over a run. Byron ranked 3rd for both 5 and 10 lap averages. Byron logged a lot of laps so he should have a good feel for his car.
Austin Dillon – Austin Dillon liked his balance following his opening stint before the rain. Austin Dillon said he has a good car and has speed during an interview. Dillon never made a 5-lap run.
Ross Chastain – When practice resumed following the first red flag, Chastain jumped up to #1 on the speed chart. Chastain said his car feels fast. Chastain liked his balance and seemed happy with his car. Chastain had the 5th best 5-lap average.
