Charlotte Roval Bank Of America 400 Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Joey Logano
Charlotte Roval Fantasy Outlook – Look for Joey Logano to be a top ten contender at the Charlotte Roval but take note he might be risky if he goes down the Stage points racing path, which could be likely. The Charlotte Roval has been a great track for Logano and his 8.7 average finish over the combined races ranks as the 4th best. At “Rovals”, Logano has been stellar and sub-track type minus Indy 2021 & 2023 and the 2022 Charlotte Roval race, Logano has a 6.4 average finish and he’s 8 for 8 at finishing in the top ten.
Charlotte Roval Track History – Joey Logano has been a strong performer at the Charlotte Roval and in 5 of the 6 races, he’s finished in the top ten. Over his combined starts, Logano has an 8.7 average finish which ranks as the 4th best. Last year, Logano had a strong showing and ran well throughout. In the race, Logano finished 5th, had the 5th best average running position (7.9) and earned the 7th best Driver Rating. In terms of speed stats, Logano ranked 3rd for Speed Late In A Run and then 7th for Total Speed Rankings. In 2022, Logano was a points racer and finished 18th. In the race, Logano led 27 laps but his points racing strategy put him back to the high-20’s to begin the final Stage. On lap 103 before late chaos broke out, Logano was only up to 24th. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Logano ranked 18th. In 2021, Logano had a great race. In the race, Logano finished 5th in Stage #1, 5th in Stage #2, led 4 laps and then finished 7th when the checkered flag waved. I’ll note, Logano was also likely marginally better than his result. With 4 laps to go he was running in 5th, but then he was shown to have a lot of damage to his nose after running into the back of Denny Hamlin. In terms of speed stats, Logano had the 10th best Total Speed Ranking and ranked 6th for speed late in a run. In 2020, Logano finished runner-up. Additionally, Logano finished 8th in Stage #1, 5th in Stage #2, had a 7.6 average running position and was tied for having the best Total Speed Ranking. In the two Roval races prior to that, Logano had back-to-back 10th’s.
Chase Briscoe
Charlotte Roval Fantasy Outlook – At the Charlotte Roval, look for Chase Briscoe to race hard and leave nothing on the table. This is a do or die race for him and his Playoff chances, and I think he’ll dial up the intensity and race with 200% effort. At Watkins Glen just a few weeks ago, Briscoe showed up and raced the #14 to a 6th place finish and had the 3rd best Total Speed Ranking. At the Roval, Briscoe has been pretty solid the last two races and back in 2018 in the Xfinity series, he raced his way to victory lane here.
Charlotte Roval Track History – At the Roval, Chase Briscoe has a track record that’s hard to trust. Briscoe finished 9th in 2022 but that’s surrounded by a pair of 20’s finishes. Last year, Briscoe finished 28th but you can get out an asterisk mark for that result. Late in the race, Briscoe logged a good number of laps around the low double-digits to mid-teens and he was even in 14th on lap 100 (109 lap race) but something then happened to him back in traffic because on lap 105, he was back in 24th. In 2022, Briscoe had a solid showing and finished 9th. Additionally, Briscoe finished 7th in Stage #1, 8th in Stage #2, had a 15.5 average running position and was running in 13th on lap 103 before late chaos ensued. Briscoe was said to even had the toe for the #14 knocked out during the restart for the final Stage while he was way back in the high-20’s, so that’s a remarkable result. In 2021, Briscoe had a forgettable performance, finishing 22nd.
Justin Haley
Charlotte Roval Fantasy Outlook – Justin Haley is a driver down the depth chart who’ll be an interesting prospect at the Roval. Haley legit finished 5th in 2022 and the #7 hasn’t been bad at road courses, with Corey LaJoie just finishing 8th at Watkins Glen. To play it safe, I would view Haley as a mid to high-teens driver who’ll have upside.
Charlotte Roval Track History – Last year at the Charlotte Roval, Justin Haley had a mediocre afternoon and finished 22nd. Additionally, Haley had a 21.1 average running position and ranked 23rd in terms of Total Speed Rankings. In 2022, Haley ran a great race and finished 5th. That isn’t a fool’s gold result, it’s legit. In the race, Haley was tied for having the 2nd best Total Speed Ranking, ranked 5th for Speed Late In A Run and was running in 5th on lap 103 before late wildness kicked into gear. In 2021 in the #77, Haley’s engine blew up on lap 66 and he went on to finish 37th.
