Charlotte Roval Bank Of America 400 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions/ The Low Tier
Carson Hocevar
Charlotte Roval Fantasy Outlook – Carson Hocevar might have surprise upside at the Charlotte Roval, but I don’t know if I would count on it. Hocevar has never competed here in any form of racing, so buckle up. That said, Hocevar did finish 3rd at Watkins Glen a few weeks ago, so perhaps he’s starting to turn the corner on this track type. In 2024 at road courses, Hocevar has a 16.75 average finish and the 13th best Track Type Total Speed Ranking.
Charlotte Roval Track History – Carson Hocevar has never competed at the Charlotte Roval.
Noah Gragson
Charlotte Roval Fantasy Outlook – Noah Gragson hasn’t been all that bad at road courses in 2024 but he’s for the risk takers and I would just view him as a mid-pack driver at best heading into the weekend. At Watkins Glen a few weeks ago, Gragson had his best road course performance, having the 9th best Total Speed Ranking and finishing 11th. For the season at road courses minus COTA, Gragson has a 17.0 average finish.
Charlotte Roval Track History – Back in 2022 in the #48 in his only Cup start at the Roval, Noah Gragson finished 23rd, had a 15.2 average running position and had the 27th best Speed Ranking. I’ll note, Gragson was in 9th before late mayhem ensued.
Brad Keselowski
Charlotte Roval Fantasy Outlook – At the Charlotte Roval, I have low expectations for Brad Keselowski. He might be a mid to high-teens finisher given his track record, but this is ultimately a meaningless race to him. This year at road courses, Keselowski has the 27th best Speed Ranking and a 19th place average finish minus COTA (33rd).
Charlotte Roval Track History – At the Charlotte Roval, it’s probably wise to pencil in Brad Keselowski as a high-teens finisher if he can avoid major problems. Over the last four Roval races, Keselowski has a 17.5 average finish and he’s 4 for 4 at finishing between 14th to 20th. Last year, Keselowski had a pretty ugly afternoon which included missing a few turns and he finished 18th. Additionally, Keselowski had an 18.6 average running position and had the 19th best Total Speed Ranking. In 2022, Keselowski escaped with a 14th place finish. In the race, Keselowski had a 19.5 average running position, the 22nd best Total Speed Ranking and ranked 15th for Speed Late In A Run. In 2021, Keselowski had a spin, and he missed at least one turn and when the checkered flag waved, he finished 20th. Additionally, Keselowski had an 18.8 average running position and had the 21st best Total Speed Ranking. In 2020, Keselowski finished 10th in Stage #2, led 7 laps, had a 9.5 average running position, had the 9th best Total Speed Ranking but finished a dud 18th. I’m chalking up his poor finish to pit strategy. On lap 95 he was running in 10th, but then on lap 99 following drivers who decided to pit late during the final caution he was back in 22nd. In 2019, Keselowski had his best race and finished 5th.
