Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Las Vegas #1 2024
Kyle Busch – Kyle Busch was a contender to win this spring at Las Vegas but he finished an asterisk mark 26th. In the race, Busch started 21st, finished 4th in Stage #1, led 18 laps but then late in Stage #2, Busch had a slow pit stop that dropped him from 2nd to 18th. Then later in the race when he rebounded back up to 8th on lap 212, Busch was penalized for pitting outside of his pit box which doomed him to his 26th.
Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell was a letdown this spring at Las Vegas and he finished an asterisk mark 33rd. In the race, Bell started 10th, but then problems started early and on lap 10, Bell had fallen back to 18th with a flat/shredded tire. Bell somehow rebounded from that and finished 10th in Stage #1. Then in Stage #2, while he was running around 14th, he spun on lap 156 and brought out another caution and he was then doomed to his poor finish.
Chris Buescher – Chris Buescher had a short race this spring at Las Vegas, but he looked racy while it lasted. In the race, Buescher started 9th, took the lead during the first caution when he took two tires, led 2 laps, was in 7th on lap 25 but then on lap 27, he lost a wheel and pounded the wall hard (finished 37th).
Bubba Wallace – Bubba Wallace didn’t have a great race this spring but he certainly wasn’t 35th place bad. That poor result can be chalked up to major lug nut issues. In the race, Wallace started 5th, finished around the high teens in Stage #1, was in 18th on lap 118 but then just shortly after that during green flag pit stops, Wallace had some sort of lug nut issue that dropped him 3-laps down. Wallace later had that issue again later in the race.
