Group A NASCAR Driver Notes
Christopher Bell – Christopher Bell seemed pretty optimistic about his car during an interview after winning the pole. Bell said his pace didn’t show what he had in practice (only SVG had a worse 15-lap average in Group A), but he felt super comfortable inside of the car.
Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex was fast and ranked #1 overall in Group A. Truex had good long run speed. Truex was viewed to be one of the best in the Group. Truex had the best 10-lap average in the Group and ranked 2nd in terms of 20 and 25-lap averages.
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin had good long run speed and ranked #1 in Group A in terms of 20 and 25-lap averages. Hamlin was viewed to be one of the best.
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott had really good speed. Elliott was tied with Kyle Larson for having the best overall 15-lap average in practice. Jeff Burton viewed Elliott to be one of the best over a long run.
Ty Gibbs – Ty Gibbs had really good speed in practice. Gibbs had the 3rd best 20-lap average in the Group.
