Ty Gibbs
Homestead Fantasy Outlook – Look for Ty Gibbs to be a top ten contender at Homestead. Gibbs ran well last year en route to a 7th, and there’s no reason why he shouldn’t run well again. Gibbs has shown up with speed at intermediates throughout the season and since 2023 at high-wear intermediates his Track Type Total Speed Rankings 12th, which is highlighted by a runner-up this spring at Darlington.
Homestead Track History – Ty Gibbs had a strong showing last year at Homestead in a fast #54. In the race, Gibbs started 9th, finished 10th in Stage #1, finished 8th in Stage #2, earned the 7th best Driver Rating and then finished 7th. In terms of speed stats, Gibbs ranked 3rd for Speed Late In A Run and then 6th for Total Speed Rankings. In 2022 in the #23, Gibbs finished 22nd, but I wouldn’t read much into that pre-rookie start.

Kyle Busch
Homestead Fantasy Outlook – Kyle Busch is always a threat at Homestead and on Sunday, look for Busch to be a top ten contender. Busch is a 2-time Homestead winner and in 8 of the last 9 races he’s finished in the top ten. When it comes to racing at high-wear intermediates, Busch is one of the better performers. Busch recently finished 2nd at Darlington and going back to 2023 minus this spring at Darlington, Busch has 1-win and a 7.8 average finish. 2024 has been a tough year, but the #8 team has frequently been at their best at intermediate tracks.
Homestead Track History – Kyle Busch is a two-time winner at Homestead who ranks as one of the premiere performers. Since 2015, Busch has won twice and minus last fall he’s 8 for 8 at finishing in the top ten and has a 4.9 average finish. Last year, Busch was just bad and finished 18th. Busch didn’t have any problems; he simply wasn’t competitive. Additionally, Busch had a 17.1 average running position and ranked 25th in terms of Total Speed Rankings. In 2022 when he was a lame duck at JGR, Busch finished 9th, had a 15.4 average running, position and had the 17th best Total Speed Ranking. In 2021, Busch was kind of off also by his incredibly high standards and finished 10th. On lap 18, Busch radioed his team and said he wasn’t happy with his car, and it wasn’t close to what the simulations were. Over the four races prior to that, Busch had results of 6th, 1st, 4th and 2nd.

Bubba Wallace
Homestead Fantasy Outlook – Bubba Wallace had a strong showing last year at Homestead and hopefully he can build off of that because outside of 2023 his Homestead average finish is 22.5. Since 2023 at high-wear intermediates, Wallace ranks 9th in terms of Total Speed Rankings. On Sunday, I would view him as a top ten contender.
Homestead Track History – Fantasy racing is about “What have you done lately”, and thankfully Bubba Wallace was pretty good last year. In 2023 at this high-wear 1.5-mile track, Wallace finished 6th, had a 12.7 average running position and ranked 16th in terms of Total Speed Rankings. To close out the race, Wallace was solid and moved up in the running order. In 2022, Wallace missed the race due to suspension. In 2021, Wallace was clearly a low 20’s performer. In the race he finished 22nd, had a 20.7 average running position and had the 23rd best Total Speed Ranking. In 2020, Wallace finished 13th.
