Phoenix NASCAR Practice Notes
Ryan Blaney – Blaney was viewed to be one of the best in practice. About 35-minutes into practice, Blaney jumped up to #1 in terms of overall speed. In practice, Ryan Blaney ranked #1 for 5,10 and 15-lap averages.
William Byron – Byron was strong and looked to have good speed over a run. Byron was viewed to be one of the best. Midway thru practice, Byron reported that changes helped with his tightness. In terms of 15-lap averages, Byron ranked 3rd.
Joey Logano – The #22 team is pretty confident this week. They feel good about turns 3 and 4 but want to be better in turn #2. Logano had the 2nd best 10-lap average in practice. Among the championship #4, Logano was the only driver who did a 20-lap run and he ranked 2nd in that speed stats.
Tyler Reddick – Tyler Reddick looked to be the least competitive of the championship 4 in practice. In terms of 10-lap averages, Reddick ranked 10th. His 15-lap average ranked 11th.
Martin Truex Jr. – Martin Truex Jr. unloaded fast and climbed to the top of the leaderboard early. Truex looked to have pretty good speed. Truex had the 5th best 15-lap average and ranked 3rd in terms of 20-lap averages.
