AJ Allmendinger
Homestead Fantasy Outlook – If you’re looking for a mid-tier dark horse who can grind out a good result, put AJ Allmendinger on your radar. In the Next Gen at Homestead, Allmendinger’s the only driver who’s 3 for 3 at finishing in the top ten and his 5.3 average finish is tied for being the best. There’s “Horses for courses”, and this has just been a great track for him so hopefully the good times will continue.
Homestead Track History – As you just read, Allmendinger has been solid at Homestead in the Next Gen and his combined average finish is 5.3. Also in the Next Gen, Allmendinger ranks 9th in terms of Next Gen Speed Rankings, having ranked 11th over all three races. Last fall, Allmendinger started 32nd, finished about 16th in Stage #1, finished 10th in Stage #2, had a 14.5 average running position and then finished 8th when the race reached its conclusion. In the two races prior to that, AJ had results of 5th (2023) and 3rd (2022).

Chase Briscoe
Homestead Fantasy Outlook – Chase Briscoe will be a quality dark horse at Homestead. Truex ranked among the premiere performers here, and I think Briscoe will likely keep the good times going for the #19 crew. Briscoe hasn’t been that good at Homestead on paper, but he had his all-time best result last year and finished 12th. Last year at high-wear intermediates, Briscoe had the 2nd best average finish (6.0) and ranked 6th in terms of Track Type Total Speed Rankings. On Sunday, I would conservatively view him as a top ten contender.
Homestead Track History – Chase Briscoe has yet to crack the top ten at Homestead, but fantasy racing is all about “What have you done lately”, and he had his best showing last year. Last fall, Briscoe had a solid showing. In the race, Briscoe finished 12th, had the 12th best Total Speed Ranking and had a 13.6 average running position. In 2023, Briscoe finished 17th, had a 20.5 average running position and ranked 15th in terms of Total Speed Rankings. In 2022, Briscoe crashed on lap 160 while running 20th and that led to his 36th. In the race, I would say he typically looked about high-teens good prior to his demise and his Total Speed Ranking ranked 21st. In 2021, Briscoe had a pretty mediocre performance and finished 18th.

Carson Hocevar
Homestead Fantasy Outlook – Carson Hocevar had a skillful showing last year at Homestead and in year #2, I think he could very well be a top ten contender again. His 9th place performance last year was legit, and I think he has a great chance to match it.
Homestead Track History – Last year at Homestead, Carson Hocevar had a great showing and ran well throughout. In the race, Hocevar finished 5th in Stage #1, finished 8th in Stage #2, earned the 8th best Driver Rating, had a 9.8 average running position and then finished 9th overall. In terms of Speed stats, Hocevar ranked 8th for Total Speed Rankings and Green Flag Speed.
