Chicago Street Grant Park 165 Full Field Fantasy Rankings
1) Shane van Gisbergen
Start 1st / Projected Finish Range 1-6 / Dominator Potential – High
Chicago Outlook – At Chicago Street in the Grant Park 165, the road to victory lane likely goes thru Shane van Gisbergen. SVG won the inaugural race in 2023, and would likely be 2 for 2 in the win column if Briscoe didn’t have a major out of control moment last year. Right now at road courses, nobody is better than SVG. SVG just smoked the field at Mexico with a +15-second margin of victory and between the combined races on this track type in 2025, SVG has the best Track Type Total Speed Ranking. Going back further to 2024, SVG also ranks #1 in that speed analytic. At Chicago between the combined races, SVG has the best Next Gen Speed Ranking and he’s 2 for 2 at fielding the fastest car in both races. Also between the combined races, SVG has the 2nd best Driver Rating. Last year in the #16, SVG had a hot rod and was arguably the best. In the race, SVG started 5th, won Stage #1, led 9 laps but then early in Stage #2 on lap 25 after not winning the race off pit road, Chase Briscoe had a major out of control moment and then had contact with SVG, which marked the end of his race, leading to his 40th. In 2023, van Gisbergen was a standout performer and raced his way to victory lane, racing his way to the front and coming up clutch at the end. In the race, SVG started 3rd, had the best average running position (4.9), earned the best Driver Rating and led 11 laps. In terms of speed analytics, SVG ranked #1 for Total Speed Rankings and #1 for Green Flag Speed. In Group 1, SVG had the best 5 and 10-lap averages.

2) Christopher Bell
Start 13th / Projected Finish Range 1-6 / Dominator Potential – Medium
Chicago Outlook – Christopher Bell is a super-elite road course racer who’ll be a contender in the Chicago Street Grand Park 165. Bell’s a 3-time road course winner and he’s been stout in both previous Chicago races. This year at road courses, Bell won at COTA, finished 2nd at Mexico and in terms of Track Type Total Speed Rankings for the season, Bell ranks 2nd. Going back to last year at road courses, Bell has the 2nd best Track Type Total Speed Ranking and minus Chicago 2024 where a strong case could be made that he was subjectively the best but he crashed, Bell’s average finish is 4.3 and he’s 4 for 6 at finishing in the top 2. The results column hasn’t been pretty for Bell at Chicago with a 27.5 average finish but in both he was the leader before late field flipping/ pit strategy ensued. Between the combined races, Bell has the 2nd best Next Gen Speed Ranking, the 2nd best Average Running Position and the 4th best Driver Rating, despite neither being incident free. Last year, Bell was arguably the best but finished 37th. In the race, Bell started 7th, led the 2nd most laps (14), had the 3rd best average running position (6.5) and was the leader on lap 40 before major field flipping took place which dropped him back to the teens. On lap 55 while he was driving up thru the field, Bell was up to 6th but then he got into the wall hard, leading to his 37th. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Bell ranked 2nd. In 2023, Bell was the class of the field but finished an asterisk mark 18th. In the race, Bell started 4th, led the most laps (37), won Stage #1, won Stage #2 but then when the field got flipped following the caution on lap 49, Bell went from leading back to 14th. Then on lap 55 shortly after that, Bell got into a tire barrier and spun which dropped him back to the 30’s. Additionally, Bell earned the 2nd best Driver Rating and had the 6th best Total Speed Ranking.

3) Tyler Reddick
Start 4th / Projected Finish Range 1-6 / Dominator Potential – Medium
Chicago Outlook – Tyler Reddick has performed at an elite level at Chicago Street, so look for him to be one of the drivers to beat. This year at road courses, Reddick was a contender to win at COTA (finished 3rd) but then at Mexico, the #45 was junk and Reddick finished 20th. Going back to 2024 at road courses minus Watkins Glen last fall, Reddick has an 8.2 average finish. At Chicago Street over the combined races, Reddick has the 3rd best average running position, the 3rd best Driver Rating and ranks 5th in terms of Next Gen Speed Rankings. Last year, Reddick had a hot rod and finished 2nd. In the race, Reddick had a 6.8 average running position, earned the 3rd best Driver Rating and had the 6th best Total Speed Ranking. On lap 40, Reddick was in 3rd but then on lap 45 following pit strategy/ field flipping he found himself back in 17th and then had to race hard to earn his 2nd. In 2023, Reddick was a standout performer but finished an asterisk mark 28th. In the race, Reddick started 2nd, led 8 laps, finished 2nd in Stage #1, finished 3rd in Stage #2 but then on lap 57 while running in 4th, Reddick got into a tire barrier and got stuck, and you could then stick a fork in him. In terms of Total Speed Rankings, Reddick ranked 4th.
