Chase Elliott
Bowman Gray Fantasy Outlook – In the Busch Light Clash at Bowman Gray, look for the defending Champ, Chase Elliott to be a force to be reckoned with. Elliott dominated the field last year and I have no doubt he’ll have a more than capable #9 underneath him again. I view Martinsville to be the best comp track and at that short half-mile in 2025, Elliott had results of 3rd and 4th with Speed Rankings of 2nd and 4th. Heading into the weekend, look for Elliott to be a top five contender who’ll be a factor to win.
Bowman Gray Track History – Last year, Chase Elliott was the class of the field and smoked the competition. In the race, Elliott started 1st, had a 1.3 average running position, led 171 laps (85.5%) and earned a perfect Driver Rating. In terms of speed stats, Elliott ranked #1 across the board for Total Speed Rankings, Green Flag Speed, Speed Late In A Run and 4th Segment Speed.
Ryan Blaney
Bowman Gray Fantasy Outlook – Ryan Blaney is a super-elite short track performer who’ll be tough to beat at Bowman Gray. Blaney nearly raced his way to victory lane in last year’s Clash despite starting last, so just imagine what he might be able to do if he starts halfway decent. At Martinsville which I view to be the best comp track, Blaney has the best Next Gen Average Finish (4.3) and the 2nd best Next Gen Speed Ranking. Last fall at “The Paper Clip”, Blaney finished 2nd and had the 2nd best Total Speed Ranking.
Bowman Gray Track History – In last year’s Clash, Ryan Blaney started last, having to take the “Highest in 2024 Points Provisional” but he turned it into a runner-up finish. In the race, Blaney started 23rd, finished 10th at the half-way break and then finished 2nd when the checkered flag waved. In the race, Blaney’s strength was being fast on old tires and in that speed analytic, he ranked 2nd. In other speed analytics, Blaney had the 4th best Total Speed Ranking and in the 4th segment when the money was on the line, he ranked as having the 2nd fastest car on the track.
