Fantasy NASCAR Asterisk Mark Report – Martinsville #2 2025
Denny Hamlin – Denny Hamlin had a great car last fall at Martinsville and looked like a contender to win, being at his best before his demise but he finished an asterisk mark 35th. In the last Stage while running in 2nd on lap 335, Hamlin’s engine blew up. In terms of speed in the segment of his demise, Hamlin ranked as having the 3rd fastest car on the track.
Chase Briscoe – Last fall at Martinsville, Chase Briscoe hovered around 10th for much of the race but then on lap 296 while running in 13th, his engine blew up leading to his asterisk mark 37th. The #19 team was already locked into the season finale, so I don’t think they were too focused on this race so we certainly didn’t see the best they had to offer.
Erik Jones – Erik Jones was a top 15 performer last fall at Martinsville but finished a misleading 34th. In the race, Jones started 28th, finished Stage #1 in the mid 20’s, finished Stage #2 in 10th, was running in 14th on lap 160 but then shortly after that, Jones spun out during a pit cycle which damaged the #43 and was noted to be off pace, which led to his poor finish.
