Bristol Race Notes
AJ Allmendinger who started on the pole choose to start in the outside lane and he led the opening 23 laps.
Early in the race, Hamlin’s #11 wasn’t driving well, and he was stuck in the outside groove and lost spots. Hamlin said his car was way too tight.
Joey Logano was struggling early and by lap 12, he lost +10 spots and was running in the 30’s. He said his car was absolutely awful.

Big: On lap 23 after he fell back to 3rd (led the first 23 laps), AJ Allmendinger radioed his team that he felt like he had a tire coming apart. He then came to pit road in short order after losing more spots. He was way off pace on lap 27.
Big: On lap 27, Ryan Preece was on pit road for tires. He was running in the 20’s at the time. Austin Dillon pitted early too.

On lap 38, Chase Briscoe pitted early. Some others pitted early around this time including Riley Herbst, Wallace and Hamlin. Around lap 42, Ty Gibbs came to pit road.

Big: On lap 81 the first caution came out due to Josh Berry’s car being on fire on pit road. This was an extended caution for NASCAR to clean the track of all the rubber. Berry said his car was good and he was moving forward in a post-DNF interview.
