I’m high on Clint Bowyer this year, but 4th overall? Seems like a real reach. Martin Truex Jr ahead of Kurt Busch also seems a stretch. Last, why the change of heart on Mark Martin – in mock draft 1 he was 10th, now he’s fallen out of the top 20?

      Hi Don,

Every mock draft has been created by a different person so that’s why things change from 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0

Don, without the penalty last year Bowyer would have been 5th in points (that actually surprised me when I looked it up). I agree that that’s a major stretch with Truex.

Removing the Chase bonus and the penalty Bowyer would have had 4,526 points, making him 9th behind Tony Stewart’s 4,628. As I said, I am high on Bowyer this year and a 4th place finish is definitely in the realm of possibilities, however possibilities and probabilities are two different things. Either way, it sounds like I won’t have Bowyer falling into my lap like last year.

Regardless, love the drafts, definitely food for thought as my local league draft approaches.

There will probably be one more mock draft so stay tuned. Next week though their will be a big LIVE draft where people’s feet will be held to the fire. That’s something you definitely won’t want to miss.

I agree some of those drivers look out of place, but something has to change. It can’t be a carbon copy of 2010 except for maybe JJ. I have a feeling that Bowyer may do some of the things Harvick did last year with consistency. There has to be one surprise driver who over excels and a couple who just don’t get it going.
