Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Daytona 500
Austin Dillon – Pole sitter Austin Dillon is the best default Yahoo C List fantasy NASCAR pick you can make for the Daytona 500. Unfortunately that also means lots of people will be picking him. Who wouldn’t be happy having the black 3 car on their team? If you want to get out of sequence in your league and save perhaps the best Yahoo C List driver it’s a good week to look elsewhere. Check out our Daytona 500 Front Runner Rankings post to read our fantasy spin on Dillon.

Micheal Waltrip – Michael Waltrip is an excellent Yahoo C List fantasy option for the Daytona 500. He’s only going to be in a few races this year and he’s in the #66 car. This car was formerly the #56. Check out our Daytona 500 Mid Pack Predictions post to read about Michael Waltrip’s fantasy value.
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson is a prodigy who’s capable of performing well in the Daytona 500. He’s a smart driver and that attribute is important in this race. Last season at restrictor plate tracks Ganassi cars showed muscle. McMurray performed well in July at Daytona and he won the fall Talladega race. Last year in the Nationwide Series opener at Daytona Kyle Larson was near the front of the pack before his car got airborne and split into two. In the two other races in the lower series on this track type he had results of 6th and 18th.

Trevor Bayne – In 2011 Trevor Bayne won the Daytona 500. That win cemented him as people’s forever Daytona dark horse pick. Unfortunately he’s a high risk prospect. Since his win he’s had results of 20th, 27th, 27th 35th and 41st. Those poor results give him a 25.2 average finish. That’s pretty bad when you consider at one point it was 1.0.
Danica Patrick – In last season’s Daytona 500 Danica Patrick had the best race of her career. She started on the pole, earned the 2nd best driver rating, had a 5th place average running position, led 5 laps and finished 8th. The key to her success was track position. It’s something that she won’t benefit from on Sunday. Due to her engine failure in practice #1 she’ll have to start in the back. In July at Daytona she ran well. She earned the 13th best driver rating, finished 14th and had a 15th place average running position. In her very first Daytona start in 2012 she crashed at the start of the race. At Talladega last season she was consistent. She started in 23rd both races and finished 33rd both races.
Parker Kligerman – In 2014 Parker Kligerman will be driving the #30 Swan Racing entry. In the Sprint Cup series he has two starts under his belt and has finishes of 18th and 25th. Neither of those results carry much fantasy weight for this race except noting how he’s performed overall. In the Nationwide Series on this track type he performed well last season. On these venues he had results of 5th, 6th and 18th.
