About 15-20 laps into a run tires start to drop off and the cars don’t handle as well.

Sprint Unlimited Race Notes
Paul Menard drew the pole and selected to start in the outside lane. He led the first 7 laps.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. started in 24th and on lap 4 he was up to 7th.
Brad Keselowski had a very strong car early and on lap 4 he was battling side by side with Paul Menard for the lead.
Running order on lap 6: 27,2,3,78,88,20,1,42,22,43 … 14,10,48,4,41,11,24,5,16,13 …. 19,15,18,31,17
On lap 8 Brad Keselowski got a run on the bottom of the track with help from Matt Kenseth and took the lead.
Top 5 on lap 9: 2,20,78,14,27
Matt Kenseth led for 1 lap on lap 10.
On lap 11 Martin Truex Jr. got a tremendous run on Matt Kenseth and shot past him in a turn. Dale Earnhardt Jr. was helping him prior to the pass. Over the next couple of laps Truex Jr. raced aggressively blocking everybody who made a run on him.

On lap 15 Paul Menard was falling back in the pack because he thought he had a vibration.
On lap 15 Martin Truex Jr. retook the lead after losing it briefly and went on to lead the next 11 laps.
Big Moment: On lap 22 Brad Keselowski got heavy damage after contact with the inside wall. What happened is that Kyle Larson who was in the bottom lane tried to turn up into the top lane but unfortunately that space was occupied by Keselowski. It resulted in Keselowski spinning down the apron and then coming back up the track into the wall. During this incident Kyle Busch and Austin Dillon took evasive action by driving through the grass. Clint Bowyer got some nose damage when he hit a brace.
The Brad Keselowski wreck brought out the lap 25 planned competition caution.
During the competition caution Martin Truex Jr. radioed his team and said his car was unbelievable. He really liked how it ran.

During the competition caution Dale Earnhardt Jr. took no tires and got the lead.
During the competition caution Jamie McMurray and Ryan Newman were penalized for pit road infractions.
