Bristol Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Kyle Larson – Kyle Larson is a strong performer at Bristol. He runs well here but problems in his last two races weigh down his average finish. In a way that’s a good thing because it increases his sleeper value. This spring he might’ve been top five good but his race wasn’t incident free. While he was running in 3rd on lap 147 his track bar broke which sent him to the garage and dropped him 37 laps down. Last August he looked very strong but finished 41st after having multiple problems. In the race he showed possible top 5 potential until trouble struck. His first issue was a flat tire on lap 125. During that incident he also had some contact with the wall and got a commitment cone violation. Later in the race on lap 359 he had another tire go down and this time he got into the wall hard which essentially marked the end of his day. In spring 2015 he ran very well. He earned the 2nd best driver rating, led 90 laps and finished 7th. During his rookie year at Bristol he came home with results of 10th and 12th. (Yahoo B Driver)

Jimmie Johnson – If Jimmie Johnson wasn’t in the midst of his bad finish streak I would like him a lot more. Since June he’s only finished in the top ten once and a recent good day for him is a result between 12th and 16th. Jimmie Johnson has run very well at Bristol. Over the combined races since 2014 a solid case could be made that he’s been the best performer. In 3 of the last 4 Bristol races he’s finished in the top 4. The one race over that stretch he finished south of 4th was this spring. In that race he had a great car but finished a misleading 23rd. On lap 300 while he was running in 3rd he made an unexpected pit stop under green which dropped him two laps down to 31st. Prior to that it was clear he had top five potential. In the three Bristol races prior to that he had a 3.3 average finish, the 6th best driver rating and a 10.3 average running position. Last August Johnson had a solid car and was fast at the end. When the race reached its conclusion he finished 4th and earned the 8th best driver rating. In spring 2015 Johnson ran well and finished runner-up despite facing adversity twice (involved in an accident and spun Jeb Burton which dropped him down a lap). In August 2014 he got two speeding penalties but that didn’t hold him back. When the checkered flag waved he finished 4th and earned the 7th best driver rating. In spring 2014 he had a great car and led 44 laps early, but a flat tire before lap 100 derailed his afternoon. One aspect that should be noted about Johnson is his recent bad finish streak.
