Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Dover
Chase Elliott – Chase Elliott had a very successful Dover debut this spring. On Sunday I expect him to run well again and compete for a top ten. If anything I expect him to run even better, that’s not necessarily saying he’ll finish better because he was aided by attrition earlier this year. When the checkered flag waved in May Elliott finished 3rd, earned the 9th best driver rating and had an 11th place average running position. If attrition didn’t enter the equation his average running position was a good indicator towards his level of competitiveness. In the Xfinity Series at Dover he’s finished between 3rd and 7th in all four of his starts.
Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney has solid dark horse fantasy NASCAR potential at Dover. I have no doubt that he’s capable of running well here. This spring he dodged the carnage and had a successful Dover debut. When the checkered flag waved he finished 8th, had a 13th place average running position and earned the 11th best driver rating. If late attrition didn’t kick in he looked poised to finish around 10th. On Sunday I view him as a low double digit driver who has potential to get a top ten finish.

Jeff Gordon – Jeff Gordon will return to action at Dover. The Monster Mile has been a great track for him. He’s won here five times and has finished in the top ten 57% percent of the time. Recently at Dover he’s been a safe fantasy option and since fall 2011 he hasn’t finished outside the top fifteen. In 2015 at Dover he recorded results of 10th and 12th. In fall 2014 at Dover he led 94 laps and raced his way to victory lane. On Sunday I would look for Gordon to finish between 11th and 16th. In 5 of his 6 races this year he’s finished within that range. Darlington is somewhat similar and at that venue he finished 14th.
