Bristol Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Erik Jones – Erik Jones is a dark horse option at Bristol. He’s previously won here in the Truck Series and the Xfinity Series. This spring at Bristol he ran well but finished a misleading 17th. Performance wise he was top ten good. His average running position was 8th and he earned the 8th best driver rating. Additionally in the race he finished 3rd in Stage #1, and 6th in Stage #2. His misleading result can be traced to when he got into the wall hard with 80 laps to go while running in 8th. On Sunday I would look for him to compete for a top ten. (Yahoo C Driver)

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Bristol is a great track for Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and if you’re looking for a sleeper pick consider him. His average finish is 10.4 and in 5 of the last 7 races he’s finished in the top ten. In two races over this stretch he’s finished runner-up. This spring Ricky Stenhouse Jr. had a good race. He finished 9th, had a 13th place average running position and earned the 11th best driver rating. At the end of Stage #2 he finished 10th. In 2016 he had a good year scoring the 3rd most points between the combined events. Last summer at Bristol he had a good car and finished runner-up from the 25th place starting position. The attrition rate was sky high and he used pit strategy in the last quarter of the race but you can’t take that away from him. In spring 2016 he finished 16th, but it should be noted he was running in 9th with 20 laps to go. In 3 of the 4 Bristol races prior to that Stenhouse Jr. finished in the top 6. (Yahoo B Driver)

Ryan Blaney – Ryan Blaney has a dismal track record at Bristol but I wouldn’t count him out. In the last two races he’s had misleading results. This spring he showed potential but he had power steering problems early. On lap 39 prior to his problem really manifesting he was running in 7th. Eventually his problem got so bad he had to take his car to the garage area to get worked on. Last year at Bristol he ran well in both events. Last summer he had a strong car and was a top ten contender but finished a misleading 35th after being collected in a multi-car wreck around lap 374. In the race he started in 4th and up until his wreck I would estimate his average running position was around 10th. Last spring he had a quality showing. He earned the 8th best driver rating, had an 11th place average running position and finished 11th. In both the Truck Series and Xfinity Series Blaney has raced his way to victory lane at Thunder Valley. (Yahoo B Driver)
