My first thought initially was Ryan Newman, but based on what he did at Texas and Las Vegas, I’m more inclined to think he’ll run well on all the other similar tracks.
So I guess I’m left with Juan Pablo Montoya as the odd man out. maybe even Kurt Busch.
I selected Ryan Newman. I think he has lost his fire, he is no longer the qualifier that he used to be, he is getting older and gaining weight! These drivers have to stay in decent shape. I read somewhere(forget) that they lose any where from 3 to 20 pounds per race because of the heat in those cars. Is this true?

I think Montoya will make the Chase. Maybe not by being in the top ten, though.

Newman’s always been 200lbs plus so I don’t think weight is an issue for him.
I could imagine losing somewhere in the range of 5lbs a race but a driver would probably roll over and die if they lost 20lbs that quickly.
