Drivers To Avoid In The Chicagoland Geico 400
Kurt Busch – Kurt Busch was one of the drivers to beat last season. He led the most laps (64) and had the best driver rating (124.5). He finished 5th and had a 6th place average running position. His finish last season was his 6th top ten in 11 Chicagoland races. Kurt Busch has been about a 20th place driver at 1.5 mile tracks this season. His stats line at these venues make that pretty clear. He has a 20.8 average start, 20.7 average finish and a 20th place average running position. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Aric Almirola – Almirola has never raced at Chicagoland. That really shouldn’t be a big concern for the Geico 400. The reason why it shouldn’t be a concern is because he’ll finish 20th or worse. At high speed intermediate tracks this season he has a 20.8 average start and a 22.8 average finish. He hasn’t finished in the top fifteen in a single race this year at these aero dependent tracks. I see no reason for this trend to change. (Yahoo! C Driver)
Bobby Labonte – Just as you could imagine Chicagoland hasn’t been a good track for Labonte. He’s never finished in the top ten and in the last five races he hasn’t finished better than 20th. His average finish in this stretch of races is 27.2. Labonte has really struggled on high speed intermediate tracks this season. On them he hasn’t finished in the top fifteen a single time this season. I don’t see any reason for this trend to change. (Yahoo! C Driver)
David Ragan – In the last two races at Chicagoland Ragan has finished 11th and 12th. He’s obviously no longer in a Roush Fenway Ford so similar results won’t happen. The only scenario I see of him getting a good finish like that is if this becomes a fuel mileage race again. David Ragan has performed very poorly on 1.5 mile tracks this season. Not once has he finished in the top twenty and his average finish is 29.7. (Yahoo! C Driver)
