Martinsville Tums Fast Relief 500 After Practice Contender Picks
Jimmie Johnson
What to expect / Areas of concern:
Jimmie Johnson is hands down the favorite to win the Tums Fast Relief 500. All the variables that are important for Martinsville are in his favor. His track record is spectacular, he has a good car, he won the pole and he has the best pit box. Jimmie Johnson is poised to put on a clinic Sunday. In Happy Hour he had the third best 10 lap average. Johnson is focused and he’s my pick to win at Martinsville.

Jeff Gordon
What to expect / Areas of concern:
Jeff Gordon had the best car in the spring race and he could potentially have the best car again. In Happy Hour he had the best 10 lap average and the 4th best average speed. One variable I like about Jeff Gordon is that he ran a lot of laps in practice. That should be taken as a sign that he’s happy with his car and it’s tested for long runs. It’s been a long time since Jeff Gordon won here but there’s no question he’ll be a contender for the win.
