AAA Texas 500 Practice #1 Notes
Clint Bowyer – Bowyer is using his Charlotte race winning chassis. Bowyer drove the #15 in both race trim and qualifying trim and was happy with both. It was also mentioned that he likes the balance of the #15.

Greg Biffle – Biffle is using the chassis he won with earlier this year at Texas. The #16 was mentioned to be a little loose.
Martin Truex Jr. – Truex Jr. focused solely on qualifying in practice. At the start of the session they ran a quick lap and went to the top of the speed charts where they remained for the entire practice.
Brad Keselowski – Keselowski likes his car. It has decent speed and he said it’s “pretty solid”. The team unloaded fast and he feels good about his chances this weekend.
Jimmie Johnson – At the beginning of practice the #48 team was looking for more grip on the track and lots of changes were made. Later in practice it was mentioned that they were getting more comfortable with the car.
