Talladega Aaron’s 499 Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Jimmie Johnson – The last three Talladega races haven’t been the best for Jimmie Johnson. In these races he’s finished 17th, 35th and 26th. Prior to those three races he was in the midst of a good streak at this Wild Card venue. Between his 2011 win and 2006 win he had seven top tens and only three finishes outside the top twenty. Just like his teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. leading laps at Talladega has been a strength of Johnson’s. He’s raced here twenty-two times and has only twice failed to not lead any laps. If you’re in an allocation league do not use Jimmie Johnson this week. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Jeff Gordon – Jeff Gordon has been very successful at Talladega. At this Wild Card venue he has six wins and has finished in the top ten 48% percent of the time. Gordon’s most recent Dega win was in fall 2007. That race marked the first time the COT raced here. Could history repeat itself in the Aaron’s 499 with Gordon winning the first race here in the Gen 6 car? Recently at Talladega Jeff Gordon has been a feast or famine driver. Since 2007 he has four finishes in the top three and four finishes of 27th or worse. Last fall Jeff Gordon started in 6th, led 7 laps and finished 2nd. One strength of Gordon’s at Talladega is qualifying. He’s won the last two spring poles and has started in the top six in six of the last seven races. Also don’t forget that in this season’s Daytona 500 he qualified second. (Yahoo! A Driver)
Find out who’s the best of the best at Talladega
Jamie McMurray – Jamie McMurray was a serious contender for the win last October but he got spun late while running in the top five. In the race he led 38 laps, had a 7th place average running position but finished 34th. In the spring race last season he finished 11th. In terms of talent on plate tracks McMurray’s very good but he’s either a hero or a zero. Since 2009 he has two top 2 finishes but five finishes of 21st or worse. One positive about McMurray is that he’s been running better this season. (Yahoo! B Driver)
