Charlotte Coca Cola 600 Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kasey Kahne – Charlotte Motor Speedway is Kasey Kahne’s best track. He’s the defending champion of the Coca Cola 600 and has a total of four victories here. His 39% percent top five percentage at Charlotte ties MIS as his highest on the circuit at venues where he’s raced on more than three times. Last spring Kahne started in 7th, had a 4th place average running position, led 96 laps and tied Greg Biffle for the best driver rating (135.5). In the fall race he finished 8th. Kasey Kahne has been very good on fast high-speed intermediate tracks this season. He’s finished second twice and has had a result in the top 11 every race. Driver ratings are a great indicator of strength on these venues and so far this season on high-speed intermediate tracks he’s tied for third with Martin Truex Jr. If you’re looking for loop data statistics such as driver ratings I highly recommend you check out FantasyRacingCheatSheet.com (Yahoo! Matt Kenseth – Entering the Coca Cola 600 Matt Kenseth is the pre-race favorite to win the longest event of the year. Since moving to Joe Gibbs Racing he’s been phenomenal on this track type. On fast high-speed intermediates this season he’s won twice, has a 5.3 average finish, a 6.3 average running position and has led 215 laps. His intermediate track type strength ranking is a unanimous #1. Charlotte Motor Speedway has long been one of Matt Kenseth’s best tracks. He won his first race here in 2000 and returned to victory lane most recently in fall 2011. Kenseth has also been very consistent at Charlotte which pads his safe fantasy play potential. In the last 8 Charlotte races he hasn’t finished worse than 14th. Look for Matt Kenseth to be a contender in the Charlotte Coca Cola 600. I predict many fantasy NASCAR experts will pick him to win the Coca Cola 600. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Jimmie Johnson – Since Lowes has become Charlotte Motor Speedway it seems like Jimmie Johnson has lost a little of his edge. That doesn’t mean I wouldn’t want him on my team though. Last fall at Charlotte Jimmie Johnson had a fast car. He started in 5th, had a 5th place average running position and finished 3rd. Also in the race he led 53 laps and earned the second best driver rating. In the 2012 Coca Cola 600 he had one of the best cars. Don’t be fooled by his 11th place finish. He had a top three car but had problems on pit road with about 50 laps left. This season on 1.5 mile tracks Jimmie Johnson has been one of the best. He has a 5th place average finish, 6.3 average running position and is one of three drivers who’ve finished in the top ten all three races. (Yahoo! A Driver)
