Party In The Poconos 400 Fantasy NASCAR Front Runner Rankings
Tony Stewart – Since Pocono was repaved Tony Stewart is the only driver who’s finished in the top five twice. In the June race he finished 3rd and in August he finished 5th. In both of those races though he finished better than he performed. Despite his good finishes he had 13th best driver rating, the 12th best average running position (13.5), and only ran in the top fifteen in 62.8% percent of the laps completed. One aspect about Tony Stewart you have to like is his consistency. Since July 2005 he’s only finished lower than 11th twice. Tony Stewart is a momentum driver (external link to FantasyRacingCheatSheet.com) and when he gets it he can be unstoppable. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get another victory in the Party In The Poconos 400. Also don’t forget that recently the Stewart-Haas organization tested here. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Clint Bowyer – Last year at Pocono Clint Bowyer swept the top ten. In June he got a speeding penalty and finished 6th. In August he finished 8th but don’t forget about the last restart melee. He was a beneficiary of it. If that didn’t happen he likely would’ve finished just outside the top ten. When you exclude his rookie season then at Pocono he has a 12.5 average finish. Clint Bowyer’s best race at Pocono was back in June 2010. In that race he started in 2nd, led 59 laps and looked like the eventual winner until he got into the wall. (Yahoo! A Driver)

Kurt Busch – Kurt Busch didn’t get much track time at Pocono last season. He was suspended in June and in August he wrecked on lap #86. In the August race though he performed pretty well in the #51 car early until the first caution. Pocono has historically been a good track for this Busch. He’s won here twice and in 2011 he had finishes of 2nd and 3rd. One notable strength of Busch’s here is that he’s a qualifying ace. He’s only won one pole but since August 2004 he’s only qualified worse than 13th once. Since 2009 his 5.3 average starting position ranks as the second best in the series. (Yahoo! B Driver)
