Party In The Poconos 400 Fantasy NASCAR Mid Pack Predictions

Juan Pablo Montoya – Last August at Pocono Montoya won the pole and led the first 7 laps until he surrendered the lead to Denny Hamlin. After the #11 passed him he slowly faded back to his eventual 20th place finish. In the June race Montoya was a 17th place driver. He started in 17th, finished 17th and had a 17th place average running position. It’s important to note though Montoya has had some success here. In the last 8 Pocono races he’s finished in the top ten in half the races. He’s starting to perform better so make sure he’s on your fantasy radar for the Party In The Poconos 400. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Paul Menard – Paul Menard has quietly been solid at Pocono recently. In the last five Pocono races he’s finished between 9th and 14th every race. The only other drivers who’ve finished in the top fifteen every race in this stretch are Jimmie Johnson and Ryan Newman. Another strength of Menard’s that is evident here is that he qualifies quite well. In the last four Pocono races he’s qualified 2nd, 3rd, 3rd and 7th. Also don’t forget that Menard’s one career win came on Indy which is the most similar track. (Yahoo! B Driver)
Find out what drivers are ranked as Top Tier Elite and which are Front Runners this week.
Marcos Ambrose – Marcos Ambrose shown fantasy potential at Pocono last season. He had starting positions 5th & 9th and finished 10th & 13th. His 10th in August was his first top ten since his first Pocono race back in 2009. Between August 2009 and August 2011 he had an average finish of 31.4 so it’s important to note the risk. I think Marcos Ambrose really likes all the grip of newly repaved tracks because last season he also performed well at Michigan which was also a traditional weak spot. (Yahoo! B Driver)

Before you “really” pick a driver I would recommend you wait until after Happy Hour when all the information for the weekend is in. I do believe though that you have a good base line driver team.
If I were to pick drivers from them from an allocation standpoint (without weekend information) I think I would go Hamlin, Newman, Earnhardt Jr. and then it’s a coin flip in C. I personally don’t trust the #78 and I think Edwards fantasy value will be higher at fast high speed intermediate tracks.
Also for future questions I would like to point you to the newly revamped Members Forum on the top menu.

That’s the baseline team I recommended so yes.
