Kasey Kahne – Leaking rear end fluid.
Marcos Ambrose – Car is a little tight but rolls through the center OK and has OK grip.
Martin Truex Jr. – Little tight. Fast once again. Said he really abused the brakes in practice #1 to see how good they were. Fine tuning this session. Very happy with his car.
Brian Vickers – Car better but struggling in turns 3 & 4.
Matt Kenseth – Working on tight conditions.

What’s the deal with Michael McDowell running top 15 practice laps every once in a while but not performing in the race? Is it a lack of a full-time pit crew for race day other than probably the restrictor plate races?

I think road course racing is somewhat his thing. It seems like he gets the shot to drive for JGR in the lower series every once in a while when they need someone to drive at road courses.
