30 #1 Competition caution after rain.
78 81 Kurt Busch was forced to serve a pass-through penalty after speeding on pit road during a green-flag stop, putting him a lap down.
30, 42 109 #2 Cole Whitt spun off of turn 4, possibly due to some rain drops. Juan Pablo Montoya suffered some left rear damage from a tire going down when Whitt lost control of his car right next to him.
110 Just minutes after the caution came out, NASCAR flew the red flag for rain.
110 After a rain delay spanning five hours and ten minutes, the red flag was replaced with a yellow flag, as the cars re-fired getting ready for a restart under the lights.
42 122 #3 Juan Pablo Montoya’s car was smoking from a tire rub from his previous incident, causing part of his left rear fender to disintegrate and fall off the car, bringing out a caution for the debris. He would pit for repairs, going one lap down.
51 148 #4 Running inside the top 25 in his Cup debut, Justin Allgaier spun, bringing out another caution.
48 149 Jimmie Johnson had a jack break during his pit stop, costing him twenty positions.
22 150 A lot of smoke was coming out of the #22 car, possibly due to a cyllinder problem. After an initial inspection on pit road under yellow, they sent him back out to complete as many laps as possible.
16 151 While pitting under caution, Greg Biffle was penalized for running over an air hose, dropping him from 15th prior to pitting to 26th for the restart.
30 153 #5 After spinning out earlier in the race, Cole Whitt’s car blew up in smoke, bringing out another caution. He had to exit the car soon after due to flames underneath the car.
55 163 After beginning the previous restart in the 2nd positon, Brian Vickers was off pace, eventually pitting under green. Power failure was suspected.
168 #6 Caution flag for debris in turn 4.
24 174 Jeff Gordon had a flat tire, almost getting run over on the restart. He would pit under green, dropping to 35th position, one lap down.
22 176 #7 Joey Logano’s engine finally gave out, bringing out another caution flag.
88 226 #8 After a tough day, Dale Earnhardt Jr. spun out, with an exhaust pipe catching fire underneath the car as he hopped out.
51 240 #9 Justin Allgaier got loose and spun for a second time, bringing out another caution flag.
11 248 Shortly after the restart, Denny Hamlin was off the pace (engine issues). He went straight to the garage.
