Yahoo C-List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Loudon Sylvania 300

Ricky Stenhouse Jr. – Ricky Stenhouse Jr. made his New Hampshire debut in July. It wasn’t an incident free race for him. On lap #237 he was a victim of Danica Patrick over driving the corner. As a result he finished 27 laps down in 34th. Prior to the wreck he was running around 20th. On similar tracks this season he’s had results of 16th (Phoenix), 16th (Richmond #1) and 10th (Richmond #2). In his last two starts in the Nationwide Series he’s recorded finishes of 5th and 4th. This hasn’t been a good track for Roush Fenway Racing so don’t get your hopes up.
David Ragan – Earlier this year at New Hampshire David Ragan was the second highest finishing C List driver. He crossed the finish line in 19th and had a 26th place average running position. You can’t expect much from Ragan at New Hampshire. He has a 24.5 average finish and has only had a result in the top fifteen three times.
David Gilliland – David Gilliland was the highest finishing C List driver in July. He finished 18th but it’s important to note that was also his best all-time finish a Loudon. His next best finish is 27th. In thirteen New Hampshire races his average finish is 31.8. Richmond is a similar track and a few weeks ago he finished 23rd.

Casey Mears – Casey Mears had a short race at New Hampshire in July. He was an innocent victim in the Kevin Harvick / Marcos Ambrose wreck on lap #14. His 36th place finish marked his 3rd consecutive result in that position. Since 2010 his results have been absolutely terrible here. Over these seven races he has a 36.4 average finish and a 35.1 average running position. In twenty-one races at New Hampshire Mears has two top tens and a 25.7 average finish.
Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick had a disappointing performance at New Hampshire in July. On lap #237 she over drove the corner and took out her boyfriend Ricky Stenhouse Jr. That ended her day because she completed no more laps after that. The wreck happened while she was battling for 22nd. I would urge you to avoid her in the Sylvania 300. In the races on similar tracks she hasn’t had a result better than 29th.

Ryan; Michael Mcdowell is in the 51 car this weekend. I think he is a talented driver, especially on short tracks… hopefully this is not a start and park effort. If not, do you think he might pull off a top 25 or better?Thanks..

I think this weeks c list options are pretty easy. If you don’t pick Stenhouse prepare for the worst. I think it would be crazy to pick Stenhouse though. I would put the 51’s fantasy value on par with everyone else but Stenhouse’s this week.

Thanks, I agree.. don’t see any situation that would be logical to use Ricky this week.. I may take a shot with the 51 if practice looks halfway decent..

Yeah I was thinking I’ll save my three remaining Stenhouse starts for the tri-ovals. Rolling the dice with Ragan and McDowell this week (or maybe Gilliland).
