New Hampshire Sylvania 300 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Kyle Busch – Likes the feel of the Gen6 car at New Hampshire. His car also appeared to maintain good speed over a long run. In race trim he was a little tight in the corner. Went to qualifying trim about half an hour through practice.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Tested here. Started practice in race trim and his car was tight.
Matt Kenseth – Concentrated on getting the balance of his car to his liking.
Carl Edwards – Car isn’t quite where he needs it to be. Really focused on race trim because their qualifying draw was bad.
Jimmie Johnson – Tested here. During the test they did simulation races. His car is loose in the corners. His car got better over the course of a run.

So Kenny Wallace said the car was solid and yet he only ran the 35th quickest lap. What am I missing here?

Perhaps the #55 team decided not to focus on qualifying trim at all since they’ll have to start in the back anyways.

Yeah, I figured they’d at least want to secure a good pit road position.

What’s up with Newman. Where do you find the crew chief notes?
