Homestead-Miami Ford EcoBoost 400 Fantasy NASCAR Top Tier Elite Picks
Kevin Harvick – Don’t overlook Harvick as a fantasy pick for the Homestead-Miami Ford EcoBoost 400. This has been a good track for him. This venue really fits his driving style because he thrives on tracks where the high-line is the fast line. Currently at Homestead he has a streak of five consecutive top ten finishes. The next longest streak of consecutive top tens stands at 2. Also it’s important to note how safe a pick Harvick’s been at Homestead throughout his career. He has a 7.9 average finish and has only had a result outside the top ten twice. In nine of the last ten Homestead races he’s had a top ten finish. Last season at Homestead Harvick started in 23rd and finished 8th. His next four most recent results were 8th, 3rd, 3rd and 2nd. Those results don’t look bad to me. This season on 1.5 mile tracks Kevin Harvick has arguably been the safest fantasy pick you can make. In the ten races on tracks of this length he has two wins, 8 top tens and is one of two drivers who have finished in the top fifteen every race. Also on these tracks this season his 7.2 average finish ranks as the second best in the series. My prediction is that Kevin Harvick will win the Ford EcoBoost 400. (Yahoo A Driver)

Kyle Busch – Last year at Homestead Kyle Busch had the dominant car. He led 191 laps, earned the best driver rating, had a 3rd place average running position and finished 4th. If the conclusion of the race didn’t come down to fuel mileage than he would’ve won the 2012 Ford EcoBoost 400. Busch has also had some other good recent performances here as well. In 2011 he finished 23rd but he was much better than that. He had an average running position of 11th and led 16 laps but late in the race he had to pit for gas (Yahoo! Race Chart). In 2010 he had a top five car but Kevin Harvick wrecked him in the closing laps (Yahoo! Race Chart). This season on 1.5 mile tracks as long as Kyle Busch doesn’t have problems he’s been a lock for a top five finish. Unfortunately he’s found trouble about a third of the time. (Yahoo B Driver)
