Car No Lap Caution Incident
11 About 30 minutes prior the green flag being waved, it was reported that Denny Hamlin was sent ot a local hospital with a sinus infection (affecting his vision). Sam Hornish Jr. was on standby to fill in for Hamlin in the No. 11 Toyota.
4 19 #1 Running 5th, Kevin Harvick cut a tire, bringing out a caution for debris. He had some minor damage to his left rear quarter panel, which was repaired under yellow. Harvick restarted in the back of the field after pitting too early.
24 21 After making a push for 2nd place just prior to the caution, Jeff Gordon was penalized for speeding on pit road. He restarted in the back, with all cars still on the lead lap.
88 43 #2 Smoke could be seen coming from one of Dale Earnhardt Jr’s front tires after he got into the wall, bringing out a caution. He restarted dead last.
2 45 During yellow flag pit stops, it was reported that Brad Keselowski had a flat tire, so that caution proved to be a blessing in disguise, as he only fell from 1st to 6th.
14 57 #3 Running 18th, Tony Stewart went for a spin down the backstretch, bringing out another caution flag. Stewart was the first driver to go one lap down, in 43rd.
58 Clint Bowyer and Jeff Gordon DID NOT pit, claiming that the red light was on entering pit road, so they had to pit a lap after the rest of the field did so, pushing them just outside the Top 30 for the restart.
2 66 After opting not to pit during the previous caution, Brad Keselowski lost A TON of time in the laps following the restart, plummeting to 40th at Lap 68.
70 #4 Aric Almirola and Brian Scott collided on the frontstretch after Almirola had to check up behind Sam Hornish Jr, bringing out a caution. Scott went one lap down after pitting for repairs, while Almirola’s day was done.
31 75 Ryan Newman opted for no tires under this caution and paid the price as well. He restarted 2nd but immediately fell back to 12th in just one lap.
30 86 #5 Rookie Parker Kligerman lost control of his car and slammed into the wall, causing significant damage and bringing out a caution.
42 88 Rookie Kyle Larson was penalized for speeding on pit road, moving him to the back for the restart.
5 100 Kasey Kahne went to the garage. He came back out on Lap 126, 26 laps down.
88 109 Dale Earnhardt, Jr. had to make a green flag pit stop for a tire possibly going down, putting him one lap down (38th).
22 114 Running 5th, Joey Logano slowed on the race track reporting a vibration, eventually puling down onto the apron before going straight to the garage. No caution flew.
16 116 Soon after, Greg Biffle had a tire go down, bringing him in for a green-flag stop. Still no caution.
99 117 #6 Running 6th, Carl Edwards went for a spin after slowing due to a flat left rear tire. Caution flew soon after the spin. He restarted 37th, one lap down.
9 118 Marcos Ambrose pitted before pit road was open due to a flat left rear tire as well. He restarted in the back (32nd).
16 138 Greg Biffle had to pit under green for a flat tire, going three laps down. He did get a lap back on the eventual caution flag, so he restarted 38th.
4 139 Kevin Harvick had to pit under green for a flat tire, after making his way into the Top 5. He also went three laps down (39th).
10 140 Running 19th, Danica Patrick slowed on the race track and pitted under green. No reported reason.
142 #7 Caution flew for debris in Turn 3.
78 165 Running 23rd, Martin Truex Jr. slowed and made a green-flag pit stop.
35 167 #8 David Gilliland made contact with Josh Wise, bringing out a caution.
3 168 After running just inside the Top 20 most of the day, Austin Dillon had to pit under caution for repairs after clipping the wall earlier, moving him back to 26th on the restart.
11 176 Running 12th, Sam Hornish Jr. got loose and made contact with the wall, but kept the car in control to keep the race under green. He dropped to 22nd.
17 185 Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. came to pit road under green after spinning due to a flat tire. He finished 34th, unofficially.
48 194 Jimmie Johnson had to pit out of the lead, under green, with a flat tire. He finished 24th, unofficially.
31 195 Ryan Newman also had to pit (from 11th) with a flat tire. He finished 20th, unofficially.
2 196 Brad Keselowski pitted under green with a flat tire. He finished 26th, unofficially.
9 196 Marcos Ambrose pitted under green with a flat tire. He finished 30th, unofficially.
15 198 #9 Clint Bowyer spun after a having a tire go down, bringing out a caution. Bowyer was running in the Top 3. He finished 16th, unofficially.
