Jeff Gordon – His back is feeling much better this week.

Kevin Harvick – Started in race trim. His crew chief said, “Fastest of the guys in race trim”. During that run Kevin Harvick said, “Touch too tight in the center and on exit”.

Jimmie Johnson – Started practice in qualifying trim and was extremely fast. In his third run in qualifying trim he said, “Better balance. Can use a bit more security in Turns 1 and 2.”

Marcos Ambrose – Started practice in race trim to shake down his car. Said his team has some work to do. Tested at Michigan this week and he said him and Almirola averaged going 199 MPH.
