Michigan Quicken Loans 400 NASCAR Practice #2 Notes

NOTE: The temperature during this practice session was around 60 degrees. During the race tomorrow it will probably be 15 -20 degrees warmer.

Jeff Gordon – Started practice running 6 laps and had the fastest car over a 5 lap run early. His car remained quick throughout the session.

David Gilliland – Too tight early in practice.

Ryan Newman – Said his car is neutral in general but it needs to be in the track more. Towards the end of practice he said a late change helped him have more front grip.

Practice #2 Speeds

Jamie McMurray – Showed really good speed early and over an 8 lap run he had good lap times.

Jimmie Johnson – Car looked good over a long run on the speed charts. During his 2nd run he jumped to the top of the speed charts. Around the midpoint of practice he said he had more control over his car. Towards the end of practice he had little too much right-front grip for his liking. During his 4th run he said his car was too tight.
