Sonoma Early Week Pre-Practice Top 20 Fantasy Projections – Toyota / Save Mart 350

Chase Sleeper Weekend
This Sunday we’re making our first of two road course stops of the season, which means fantasy racers will have plenty of opportunities to put some new faces on their rosters–especially in allocation games. Strategy is the key to winning at Sonoma. You need a smart crew chief on the pit box who will be able to accurately section out the race and put you in a position to win. Good fuel mileage could end up being the key to getting to victory lane on Sunday as well. If you run out of fuel while on track, chances are your day is going to be ruined. There are two practice sessions on Friday this week and then qualifying on Saturday afternoon. Once the starting lineup is set, the cars won’t see the track again until the green flag on Sunday.

No way the 99 is finishing 19 (barring a wreck, etc.). As bad as RFR is running, Sonoma is a slow track and Carl is a wheel man on road courses. This will negate the RFR problems. Jimmy Fennig is a top crew chief and if strategy is needed, he can supply it.
I have Carl and the 99 team rated 8. I might even use a Yahoo B start on him as bad as they are running on cookie cutters!
