Kentucky Quaker State 400 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes
Joey Logano – Worked on race setup the entire practice session. Has good speed.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. – Worked on speed and not comfort. Started practice working on race trim. During his second run he said he needs to roll through the center of the turn better. Wants more grip at the front of his car. “It’s real rough, good laps though, but the car bounces up the track.” His race line moved up the race track more than others.
Austin Dillon – Free on exit in the opening laps. Tight on entry and loose off. Searching for speed.
Kevin Harvick – Early in practice he said he wasn’t good on entry and snaps loose on exit. Car got better each run. With 30 minute remaining he was too tight on entry. With 20 minutes remaining he reported, “Needs to turn better to the center. Good on exit.”
