Pure Michigan 400 NASCAR Practice #1 Notes

Jeff Burton – Driving the #14 car. Has known he’s driving this car since Wednesday. Was leaking rear gear fluid early in practice. The reason for the problem was a parts failure.

Martin Truex Jr. – Missed practice and Matt Crafton drove his car. Will also miss qualifying.

Pure Michigan 400 Practice #1 Speeds

Ryan Blaney (Trevor Bayne) – Drove the #21 for Trevor Bayne who is in Ohio for the Nationwide Series. Scuffed tires at the start of practice. In his first qualifying run he said he was a little too loose.

Kevin Harvick – Started practice in race trim. After 5 laps he said, “Feels really good.” Went to qualifying trim after the first half-hour. During his qualifying run he said he had a significant vibration.

Kurt Busch – Said his car was tight but it got better each lap.
