Yahoo C List Fantasy NASCAR Preview – Richmond Federated Auto Parts 400
Kyle Larson – In April at Richmond Kyle Larson started on the pole. One aspect of that weekend that people should remember is that he won the pole by virtue of being the fastest car in practice because qualifying was rained out. In the race his evening took a turn for the worst when the green flag waved. On lap #1 in turn #1 he had contact with Clint Bowyer and spun. Then during that caution he also ran into the back of Landon Cassill. He sustained no damage in either of those incidents. For much of the race he didn’t run that good. From about lap 50 to lap 360 I would estimate his average running position was around 22nd. At the end with strategy and cautions he was able to advance in the running order and when the checkered flag waved he finished 16th. Also in the race he had a 22nd place average running position and earned the 24th best driver rating. New Hampshire is a similar track and he performed well there. In that race he finished 3rd, earned the 6th best driver rating and led 14 laps.

Austin Dillon – Austin Dillon was very uncompetitive in April when he made his first Richmond start. He started in 27th and finished 27th. Also in the race he had a 26th place average running position, earned the 28th best driver rating and finished two laps down. About the closest he ran to the front was 23rd. At the other shorter flat tracks this season he really hasn’t run that great. At Phoenix he finished 24th and at New Hampshire he finished 14th. At New Hampshire it’s important to note his 22nd place average running position and 21st best driver rating.

Justin Allgiaer – Justin Allgaier had a good race going for him this spring at Richmond. Proof of that is his Yahoo Race Chart. The dramatic fall in the chart was due to him getting into the wall with 18 laps to go. If that didn’t happen he could’ve potentially finished in the low double digits. When the checkered flag waved he finished 21st. At Richmond he has no other Sprint Cup starts under his belt. At the similar tracks this season he’s come home with results of 30th and 37th.
Danica Patrick – Danica Patrick was really bad at Richmond in April. All race long she was a mid to high thirties driver. When the checkered flag waved she finished 5 laps down in 34th. Also in the race she started in 35th, had a 35th place average running position and earned the 37th best driver rating. In her first two races at RIR she finished 4 laps down and had results of 29th and 30th. The finishes she’s earned here are truly reflective of her level of performance. This season on the shorter flat tracks (New Hampshire, Richmond and Phoenix) she has a 30.7 average finish, 29.3 average running position and has only run in the top fifteen in 1% percent of the laps completed.
